May 11, 2008 () - Penelope Cruz attended the launch of her new Pedro Almodova directed film Broken Embraces at Americas House in Madrid, Spain, May 9.
The 34 year old Spanish star looked chic dressed in a belted LBD with spaghetti straps.

San jewelry and with light make up, she matched her dress with black high heeled pumps. She had left her long layered cut hair, set in large waves, open with a side parting.

This is Cruz’s third film with the Oscar winning director Pedro, after Live Flesh (1997) and Volver (2006). . Cruz plays a struggling actress from Spain in the new thriller that started filming in May. The dark haired Volver star will don a platinum wig for the film.
“I’m not sure that the film is going to be good, but for me the important thing is to be excited by it,” Almodovar told the media at the gathering.
The film is expected to release on March 20, 2009.
